Joseph Morgan is a man of many talents, but it appears as though his portrayal of vulnerable yet sadistic hybrid Niklaus Mikaelsen on The Vampire Diaries TV series has left him with a craving for dark and dangerous roles. From playing the traitorous soldier Lysander in Immortals to playing an imprisoned marine forced to fight grotesque, inhuman opponents on a daily basis in Warhouse,
Joseph has proven that he loves nothing more than tackling intense
scenes. Well, seeing as he has just been cast in the Atlas Independent
film Open Grave, he’ll be able to add on yet another thriller to his growing horror oeuvre.
Here’s the official synopsis of Joseph Morgan’s latest film project:
“Open Grave is the haunting tale of six desperate individuals who wake up with amnesia-like symptoms next to an open grave of rotting bodies in a remote, desolate forest. With nowhere to turn, they are forced to piece together the mysterious, and ultimately horrifying, set of circumstances that brought them together – before it’s too late.
A remote setting, decaying bodies, and people fighting for their lives?
His new movie definitely sounds frightening, to say the least — but
we’re sure he’ll be able to handle any hardcore, bloody scenes that come
his way! (Plus, he gets to work with Apollo 18 director Gonzalo
Lopez-Gallego and will be joining a talented cast which includes cast
members are Thomas Kretschmann (Valkyrie, Wanted), Josie Ho, Erin Richards, and Max Wrottesley (Hugo).)
