Abby and Bonnie aren’t done developing their relationship: “It’s exciting to see the relationship develop,” Persia says. “And, yeah, there’s a lot in store!”
Abby’s history is definitely a part of the bigger picture…: “The beautiful thing with The Vampire Diaries,” Persia says, “is that when you learn someone’s history, you get more of an overview of everything. Everybody’s history is coming into play: with Abby, you’ll see that she’s a key factor in the show, and I think it’s just really kind of exciting to see her character grow.”
She may or may not be on a mission to get her powers back: That’s what we needed to know most, because two powerful witches in town will be good if they’re allies, but terrible if Abby is really out for selfish interests. “It’s a very mysterious future that she holds,” Persia warns, “and that’s the beauty of it! We’ll have to see what happens with that.”
She isn’t done dealing with her past: “You know, it’s been interesting playing somebody who’s abandoned their child,” Persia explains. “So inside of Abby, there are guilt issues there. But I think that’s what’s drawn me to the show: it’s not just about vampires and witches, it’s more about human connections. We fall down, we get back up, we make a mistake again. That’s very human.”
The return of The Vampire Diaries will not disappoint: Persia promises “some extreme, shocking, cool surprises, which I love! Things you just won’t expect; you’re going to see a lot of enchanted twists and turns.”
